9-(2-benzoyloxy ethoxy methyl)quanine is made by treatment of quanine, suitably protected by trimethyl silylation in positions 2 and 6 with 2-benzoyloxy-ethoxy methyl chloride in presence of N,N-dimethylacetamide.
