The machine consists of a powerful fan, inlet hopper for the dirty olives and leaves, vibratory sieve and a mechanism consisting of three combs with handles entering through the part behind the sieve and extending forwards to the end of the sieve, which provide a continuous and uniform feed towards the fan and assist removal of soil through the sieve. The soil is collected in a hopper and thrown out of the machine. The clean olives fall from the sieve into an outlet hopper, while the leaves and shoots are blown out of the front by air from the fan.
