PURPOSE:To enable a gang head to reduce its exchange time and to perform its machining during the exchange, by replacing the old gang head with the new gang head in a spindle head in the advance position and storing the unnecessary gang head in a stocker in the retracting position so as to receive the next head. CONSTITUTION:When a delivery mechanism 70 is displaced to the left, heads 21, 23, whose protrusion engages with transfer feed pawls 71, 72, move to the left. That is, a machine tool releases the head 21 from a slide plate 44 of a spindle head 40 to be engaged with a carry-out side slide plate 65 of a slider 60 and the head 23 from a carry-in side slide plate 66 of the slider 60 to be engaged with the plate 44 of the head 40, being able to serve for use. Next when the slider 60 retracts, the pawl 72 is released from the head 23 while the head 21 retracts with the slider 60, and when the head 21 retracts to a head stocker, the machine tool, positioning a head 22, for use in the next time, before the slider 60, arranges the heads 21, 22 to be placed neighboring. Here the head 40 advances machining a workpiece.
