Two-part connecting element for the adjustable connection of two components

A connecting element for the adjustable connection of two components is composed of a lower part and an upper part which can in each case be connected to one of the two components. To permit alignment of the two components so that they fit precisely, the upper part and the lower part are designed to be transversely displaceable with respect to one another in a pre-assembly stage. Transverse displaceability is blocked in a final assembly stage. In order to ensure that the relative positions of the components can be reliably fixed in the long term as well, the lower part has an essentially elastically deformable rotary body which can rotate about its axis and has a slot into which there can lock a locking pin of the upper part. The locking pin has two pin sections with different diameters. One pin section having a diameter which approximately corresponds to the width of the slot allows the locking pin to be longitudinally guided in the slot and the other pin section which follows on from the former pin section in the direction of insertion of the locking pin and has a diameter which is greater than the width of the slot gives rise, by widening the slot, to transverse tensioning which makes the rotary body no longer able to rotate.
