The invention relates to equipment for gasifying pulverised coal with the use of steam and oxygen-containing gas, and it can be used in the chemical industry for generating hydrogen and carbon monoxide from solid fuels. It is the object of the invention to design the equipment under the conditions of the partial oxidation of fuels under pressure in such a way that coals with a low-melting ash can be employed. According to the invention, the equipment comprises a pressure vessel with heat insulation, branches (3, 4) for discharging the generator gas and the granulated slag, a pulverised coal burner (5), an overflow pipe (6) for maintaining the water level, a refractory lining wall (8), horizontal gas ducts (9), a gas-tight tube-cooling screen (10) with reversing loops (11), an inlet and outlet collector, a steam distributor (14), steam pipes (15) and the steam nozzles (16).
