PURPOSE:To provide an air conditioner which has a small width dimension and is thin by arranging a cold air channel and hot air channel on the back side of the main body casing on both sides in the direction of its length and providing a plenum chamber in the upper section. CONSTITUTION:Approximately in the center of the main body casing 1 in the direction of its length fans 7 and 8 are internally provided and at the same time on the side of the front face of the casing 1 a cold air channel 25 and hot air channel 26 which pass upwards the cold air and hot air which have passed through an evaporator 6 and condenser 5 are arranged on both sides of the casing 1 in the direction of its length and on the back face. On the other hand the upper sections of respective air channels 25 and 26 open into a chamber 28 which is provided at the upper section of the casing 1. The chamber 28 is loaded with a damper mechanism 30 which connects the channels 25 and 26 to a discharge port 15 and air discharge opening 17 reversibly. In other words, when fans 7 and 8 are provided in the center in the direction of the length of the casing 1, there are dead spaces on both sides. Utilizing those spaces the cold air channel 25 and hot air channel 26 are provided so that the dimension of width of the casing 1 can be minimized, making the device thinner accordingly. |
