<p>PURPOSE:To enhance adsorption capacity of H2S by carbonating the secondary particles of calcium silicate being hollow and rough under the coexistence of water content, and converting them into amorphous silica and calcium carbonate, and thereafter acid-treating them to form a desulfurizing agent. CONSTITUTION:The secondary particles of calcium silicate having about 10-150mum diameter wherein primary particles are interlocked and formed irregularly and three-dimensionally and the inside is made hollow or rough are subjected to carbonating treatment under the coexistence of water content and converted into amorphous silica and calcium carbonate. Then a desulfurizing agent which has amorphous silica maintaining the secondary-particle shape of calcium silicate as a carrier is obtained by performing acid-treatment. This amorphous silica is excellent in molding performance and can be molded into a granular shape, a honeycomb shape and a columnar shape, etc., by extrusion molding. In this molded form, micropores are formed and the adsorbing reaction of H2S is effectively advanced.</p> |
