PURPOSE:To enable cleaning to be performed in a short time entirely automatically, by automatically carrying out a cleaning process for cleaning the plate surface of a plate cylinder with a cleaning liquid, scraping an ink off the plate surface, and drying off the cleaning liquid present on the plate surface to complete the cleaning of the form cylinder. CONSTITUTION:After the lapse of a flowing-out time of a cleaning liquid 8 set by a button 26, a controller 22 outputs a control signal to cause a selector valve 9 to perform a selecting action. By the selecting action of the valve 9, an air pressure is introduced alternately into a pair of pipes 4, and a plunger 3a is moved forward and backward, whereby a blade 2a of a doctor 2 is moved toward and away from a plate surface 1a of a plate cylinder 1. A scraping step is carried out by a scraping means 20, in which the blade 2a is moved toward and away from the plate surface 1a of the plate cylinder 1, thereby scraping off a surplus ink preset on the plate surface 1a. A drying step is carried out by a drying means 40, in which a blower 16 is operated to cause hot air to pass through a hose 17 to be blown from an air doctor 15 onto the plate surface 1a of the plate cylinder 1, thereby drying off the cleaning liquid present on the plate surface 1a.
