The mechanism seals filled sacks transferred by conveyor from a filling to a closing station. It has a grip engaging with the sack mouth edges, and a closing mechanism forming a sealing seam between the edges, lying flat against each other, which protrude beyond the grip. - The grip mechanism comprises a pair of feed rollers (7,8), one at least of which is driven, and the rollers can be movable to and from each other in a slide driven in guides parallel to the conveyor (6).
