PROCEDURE AND MEANS FOR STUDYING THE WEAR OF ROAD SURFACES

The invention concerns a procedure for studying the wear of road surfaces in conditions simulating real traffic. In the procedure, on the piece to be tested are directed impacts with impact velocity of a given height with a testing piece which consists of rubber and of a spike mounted therein, whereat the trace from the impact on the piece to be tested substantially corresponds to the real effect of an automobile tyre spike on said material. The invention furthermore comprises a road surface wear testing means comprising a power means (1) to which has been connected a testing piece (2) consisting of rubber and of a spike (4) mounted therein; a supporting member (6) for the material to be tested (5); and measuring and control means (7) for measuring and regulating the velocity of the impact directed by the testing piece on the material to be tested.
