A metering cartridge for inserting into a cartridge case comprises a cylindrical cartridge body having an outlet nozzle, an expulsion piston (18) being movably mounted in the cartridge body (26), and the expulsion piston (18) containing a permanent magnet (20), and a reed switch (22) being mounted in the cartridge housing (12) above the empty position of the expulsion piston (18).
