PURPOSE:To suppress the careless recording of information relating to tracking information in a recording medium by providing the medium with an instruction part for instructing the inhibition of recording of only the information relation to tracking control or permitting the recording. CONSTITUTION:A servo write protection detecting hole 5 for instructing the inhibition of recording of tracking control data in a magnetic disk 2 to a floppy disk driving device is provided with a sliding part to be optionally slid in a direction A and the hole 5 is opened/closed by the sliding operation of the sliding part and locked in the opened or closed state. For instance, the hole 5 indicates the recording enabled state of tracking control data in the closed state and indicates the recording inhibited state of said data in the opened state. Consequently, the recording or reproducing head can be prevented from carelessly recording the information relating to the tracking control in the recording medium. |
