PURPOSE:To maintain connection relation between equipments even when a power source is disconnected momentarily, by monitoring an opposite equipment by exchanging information to confirm the state of the opposite equipment, and transmitting connection requesting information again in a case where the opposite equipment is not set at a connection state, when no transmission/reception of data is performed for a constant time. CONSTITUTION:When the power source of a terminal server 14 set at the connection state is disconnected momentarily, the non-call monitoring timer 36 of a terminal server 13 is operated, and a connection confirmation packet is transmitted from the terminal server 13 to the terminal server 14 by the interruption of the timer. The terminal server 14 transmits no response packet for the connection confirmation packet. The non-call monitoring timer 36 of the terminal server 13 applies non-call interruption on a connection state monitoring processing part 35 since it receives no response packet for the connection confirmation packet. In such a way, the connection state monitoring processing part 35 of the terminal server 13 rewrites the state of a connection information storage part 37 to an initial state for a transmission/reception processing part 38, and issues an instruction to request connection to the terminal server 14 again.
