PURPOSE:To obtain a cooperative conclusion with use of the knowledges of plural experts for execution of the inference and by means of the decision by majority, etc., by using plural inference processors, job memories, rule storing devices as well as a controller. CONSTITUTION:A cooperative inference device refers to the facts and hypotheses stored in the local job memories 121, 122 and 129, and a large area job memory 130 to extract the rules accordant with the rule condition parts out of the rule storing devices 111, 112 and 119 for execution of them. These execution results are stored in the memories 121-129 and this process is repeated for execution of the inference. A controller 140 monitors the conclusions stored in the memories 121-129 by the inference processors 101, 102 and 109 and decides the conclusion obtained by a specific inference device when each inference device reaches its conclusion. In this case, the decision by majority, etc., are used and the obtained conclusions are stored in the memory 130.
