Process for the preparation of filled polyolefins

The invention relates to a process for the preparation of polyolefins containing inorganic fillers by polymerisation of at least one olefin, preferably a low-molecular-weight alpha -olefin, in an inert, liquid and/or gaseous reaction medium at a temperature of -50 to 150 DEG C in the presence of a catalyst system containing inorganic substances, the system comprising 1. the product of the reaction of salts containing water crystallisation or of other inorganic substances containing water due to adsorption or absorption, with a trialkylaluminium compound, or a product obtained by treating substantially dried inorganic substances with aluminoxane, and 2. a soluble titanium or zirconium compound. The polyolefin moulding compositions obtained by the process according to the invention are distinguished by particularly good homogeneity, which is retained even after conversion into mouldings.
