<p>The device comprises a support frame (2), at least one lever arm (6) having one end pivotally connected to a pivot point which is fixed relative to the frame (2), a guide (12) mounted on the frame, and a cable (11) which is attached to a point (8) on the lever arm which is spaced from the pivot point. The cable extends from the lever arm to the guide (12) and from thence to a position where it is coupled to a weight stack (3). The lever arm is pivotable about the pivot point from a first position, against a resistance force exerted by the weight stack, to a second position as a result of which the length of the perpendicular from the pivot point to the line of the elongate cable between the lever arm and the guide increases, e.g. from Y to Y1. <IMAGE></p> |
