PURPOSE:To attain the stereoscopic transmission by an amplitude modulation system having a narrow transmission band by constituting the titled equipment of a suppression lower side band generator, a suppression upper band generator, a carrier oscillator and a signal synthesizer or the like. CONSTITUTION:The suppression lower side band generator 3 applies balanced- modulation to a carrier signal 13 supplied from a carrier oscillator 5 by using an L-channel audio signal 9, and a suppression upper side wave band generator 4 by using an R-channel audio signal 10. A signal synthesizer 6 synthesizes a suppression lower side wave signal 11 supplied from the generator 3 and a suppression upper side wave signal 12 supplied from the generator 4 to output a synthesized modulation signal 14. The synthesized modulation signal 14 is an amplitude modulation signal by using the carrier signal 13 as a common carrier and the suppression upper side wave signal 12 and the suppression lower side wave signal 11 as both side band signals. Thus, the stereoscopic sound transmission by using the amplitude modulation system enough to use a narrower transmission band than that of the frequency modulation system is attained.
