A drum cutter loader is equipped with a winch having a winch driving motor (6), the latter being arranged at right angles to the direction of travel of the machine and situated in a bore (7) in the winch housing (4). The motor (6) is in communication via reduction gear (8) with the machine winch driving wheel (9) which engages in a rack (3), and creates the driving movement of the machine. The drum cutter-loader is intended for use on a longwall conveyor (2) with the rack (3) on the goal side or on the coal face side. Thus the drive motor 6 is constructed so that it can be connected to reduction gear 8 which can be fixed to the one front face of its motor or to its other front face. It is consequently possible to arrange the driving wheel 9 on one or the other side of the winch housing 4, depending upon the position of the rack, and to reduce considerably the overall length of the winch housing 4, and with it, the length of the machine body. <IMAGE> |
