PURPOSE:To ensure that the departments to which slips belong can be easily identified even when the slips are stacked, by printing discrimination marks for the departments, at different positions on a department basis, along a perforation provided in a feeding direction of a slip paper. CONSTITUTION:Printing position data corresponding to a department code indicative of each department to which slips belong is read from a printing position data table. On the basis of the data, printing positions are discriminated, and it is identified whether discrimination marks 4, 5 are to be printed. When the discrimination marks are to be printed, the mark 4, 5 are set to the printing positions corresponding to the department codes, and a slip paper 3 is outputted. When the discrimination marks 4, 5 are not to be printed, the slip paper 3 is immediately outputted. When the slip paper 3 printed with the discrimination marks 4, 5 printed along a perforation 2 is cut up into slips and the slips are stacked, it can be instantly identified to which of the departments the slips 7 belong, from the positions of the discrimination marks 4-6.
