PURPOSE:To store picture information on the spot, and to reproduce/to record the stored information on recording paper by means of an external device as occasion demands, by providing a transmitting means which reads an original by scanning the original with reading sensors arranged in a row, stores the information in a built-in storing means, and connects the stored information to the external device. CONSTITUTION:The reading sensor 2 for reading the picture information of an original, storing means 21 for storing the read information, scanning means 3 and 4 for moving on the original 18 at a prescribed speed, and means 22 for transmitting the stored picture information to an external device, are provided in this picture storing device. When this picture storing device is used, picture information of a document, etc., which is to be recorded on the spot, etc., can be stored easily without using any copying machine, etc., and the stored picture information can be reproduced/recorded by connecting the information to an external device as occasion demands.
