PURPOSE:To realize repeated reproduction and to miniaturize a device and to make it light weight, by preserving picture data by using a contact type image sensor and providing a memory buffer in the inside, and displaying a preserved image at need by communicating with a personal computer, a television set, or a word processor. CONSTITUTION:An input image is written on an internal memory buffer at need by scanning a cordless handy image input device 21 by a manual operation. A timing is taken by using the driving clock of the contact type image sensor. Also, as the timing on a sub scan side, an encoder output used for the detection of a travel distance is used. And by connecting the content of the internal memory buffer in which the image data is fetched to a terminal 22 for external communication and a connector 24 for communication, the content of the internal memory buffer is sucked and displayed on the personal computer 23. Therefore, fetched data can be absorbed and reproduced for many times repeatedly. Also, since an IC chip are small, it is possible to realize the miniaturization and the light weight of the device.
