PURPOSE:To subject the inside surface of a cylinder to wire explosion spraying which forbids the adhesion of thermal spraying particles to the inside surface in the drop-out parts such as ports and notches of the inside surface by forming a film of a painting, etc., on the inside surface of the above-mentioned defective parts, then subjecting the inside surface to the wire explosion spraying. CONSTITUTION:The film 20 of the painting, etc., is previously formed on at least a part of the inside surface of the drop-out parts such as exhaust port 3, scavenging port and notches 5 of the inside surface 2 of the cylinder prior to the above-mentioned wire explosion spraying. The prescribed wire explosion spraying layer 21 is then formed on the inside surface 2 of the cylinder formed with the film 20. Adhesion 22 of the thermal spraying material (scum) 22 is formed on the film 20 in an aperture 8 of the port 3 to the inside surface 2 of the cylinder, i.e., an annular step part 8 between a front end face 7 of a packing 6 and the inside surface 2 simultaneously with the above-mentioned formation. Said thermal spraying material (scum) adhered thereto is thereafter removed by a stripping operation such as grinding or high-pressure washing. The working of the cylinder including the inside surface 2 is ended by washing the cylinder after the end of the stripping. |
