PURPOSE:To know the quantity of static electricity and to enable an external device to be operated by amplifying and rectifying an AC signal from a sensor, and then comparing its voltage by a decision circuit while leading it out as a sensor output through a peak holding circuit. CONSTITUTION:The AC signal from a detection electrode 2 is amplified and rectified by an arithmetic amplification part 7 to obtain a DC voltage and the peak holding circuit 9 holds peaks of respective waves for a constant period and sends them out as the output of a sensor 1. This output is inputted to a level meter 12 to know the quantity of static electricity visually. Further, the output of the circuit 9 is inputted to a control part 17 and when static electricity which exceeds a specific level is detected, the external equipment is controlled, i.e. stopped or speeded down.
