PURPOSE:To make the line velocity of a photosensitive drum completely coincide with that of a transfer drum and to prevent a color drift caused by superposed transfer at the time of transferring by substantially connecting and fixing one spot on the inner periphery of a cylindrical flexible transfer roll with a flange in one body in an axis direction with a pressing means. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical flexible transfer roll 36 provides a dielectric layer 29 on the outside and a conductive layer 30 on the inside and on the conductive layer 30 a transfer bias is impressed through a bias means. In one spot of the inner periphery of the transfer roll 36 the pressing member 33 is fixed in the long-hand direction of axis and it is adjusted in order to make the surface of the transfer roll 36 as high as the surface on the both sides. When the photosensitive drum 13 and transfer roll 36 widely part and rotates with electrostatic attraction force, the deviation between the transfer roll 36 and the photosensitive body drum 13 does not occur in the nip part with causing slocking or tension in the part except the nip because the transfer roll 36 has flexibility and it is held in one spot with the check member 33.
