FILE DELETION APPARATUS FOR BUBBLE CASSETTE MEMORY

A deletion command is generated to delete the nth file (Fn) of the files into which the memory is divided between the head block and the data end block (DEB). Those files which were stored originally in the blocks (Fn+1, Fn+2) in immediate succession to the file (Fn) to be deleted are read destructively from the bubble cassette memory (BCM) and stored in another memory. The file (Fn) to be deleted is also read destructively from the bubble cassette memory but is not re-stored. The files (Fn+1, Fn+2) which were stored originally in the files following the file to be deleted are then stored in the bubble cassette memory starting from the position (Fn) at which the deleted file was stored originally.
