PURPOSE:To uniform the brightness of leaked light from a working face over the whole area and to obtain an excellent light source by using a stamper having inclined structure inclined from one end to the other or from both the ends to its center part to execute rough working of an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A cushion 25 is set up on a plate 26 and an optical fiber tape 24 and an emery paper 23 are depressed by the stampers 21 equipped with heaters 22 to form flaws on the side face of the tape 24 and to execute light leakage processing. The cushion material has the structure inclined from one end to the other or from both the ends to the center part. When both the ends of the light emitting optical fiber tape 11 whose side face is treated by light leakage processing are connected to light sources 13, 14, the brightness of leaked light from the processing part 12 is uniformed over the whole area and excellent light sources having no light emitting dot can be obtained.
