The invention relates to a manual propulsion device, the displacement of which is effected by the physical force of the user. The invention has the advantage of being used to practise sports which complement windsurfing: conventional rowing for pleasure, competitive rowing, or a special form of rowing where the rower faces the direction in which he travels. The mounting of the device requires two identical devices: each device consists of a cylindrical shaft (13) fixed on the posts (12); two slides (15) carrying the oar, can, depending upon the force imparted by the user, oscillate and displace the oar on this shaft. The equipment of a windsurfing board consists of a tubular frame permitting the fastening of the devices. The device according to the invention can be fitted to small boats. <IMAGE>
