PURPOSE:To decrease the amt. of water to be treated by adjusting the target value of the axial output parameter in a nuclear reactor according to the flow rates of aq. boric acid soln. and diluting water to be injected. CONSTITUTION:The moving speed DELTAIRB, to a negative side, of the target value DELTAIREF of the axial output distribution parameter obtd. by computing 5 an enriching flow rate WB of boron and the gain KB obtd. by computing 6 a reactor output QN are multiplied 7 to obtain the moving speed DELTAIRB1, to a negative side, of the target value DELTAIREF. The speed DELTAIRB1 is then integrated 8 to obtain a moving quantity IRB2. The moving quantities DELTAIRD2 and DELTAIRB2 obtd. by processing the diluting flow rate WD of the boron and the reactor output QN similarly with computing elements 11, 12 as well as a multiplier 13 and an integrator 14 are added 9 to obtain the target value DELTAIREF. Whether the target value DELTAIREF attains an upper or lower limit or not is decided by a computing element 10 and the target value DELTAIREF is moved to the negative side at the time of enriching the boron and to the positive side at the time of diluting the boron. A deviation DELTAIDEV in the axial output distribution parameter is, therefore, decreased and the amt. of the water to be treated is decreased by reducing the enriching flow rate and diluting flow rate of the boron.
