The subject of this invention is a side hatch, which can be mounted into a combustion engine, especially to a large diesel engine control side which, combined with engine body, and/or elements attached to it, is arranged to cover so called pump shelf (1) or similar with its equipment. A side hatch arrangement following this invention preferably includes one contiguous hatch element (2;2a; 2a), reaching longitudinally at least mostly over the whole pump shelf (1) which is equipped with at least one axial channel, (4,5, 5) arranged inside the element which is suitable for transferring media, and at the time necessary amount of inlet and exhaust holes (8) connected to the said channel, which can be connected by a connecting member for conducting media.<IMAGE>
