<p>PURPOSE:To operate coordinates of a cursor or the like on a narrow operation face by providing a coordinate input device with an operator for continuing operation. CONSTITUTION:When a coordinate input device 1 is moved from a position (a) to a position (b), the direction and the extent of movement of the coordinate input device 1 on an operation face 14 are detected by x-direction or y-direction movement extent detectors 2 and 3, and outputted movement data is converted to speed data by the output (moving time) of a time counting circuit 9 in x- direction and y-direction speed detecting circuits 7 and 8, and this speed data is outputted to a speed data holding circuit 10. A CPU 11 controls a cursor 16 on a display screen 15 of a display device 13 from a coordinate position A to a coordinate position B through a display device control circuit 12 in accordance with read speed data. When a coordinate control operation continuing signal is outputted from an operator 4 for operation continuity during output of speed data, speed data at this time is held, and the cursor 16 can be controlled to a coordinate position C. Thus, coordinates of the cursor or the like on the display screen are operated on the narrow operation face.</p> |
