The invention relates to a tray device having a tray part 1 comprising a bottom plate 28, two side walls 19 and 19' and a rear wall 20. A swivelling part 2, which can be used as a manuscript holder, is pivotally mounted in opposite regions of the side walls 19 and 19'. The pivoting of the swivelling part 2 is restricted in a direction such that it is aligned approximately parallel to the bottom plate 28. In addition, a fixing device is provided, by which the swivelling part can be locked in an inclined position with respect to the bottom plate 28. <IMAGE>
