PURPOSE:To facilitate correction of input, by transferring an invalidating code to invalidate the code transferred to a higher-order device just before when key switches are released except one or more key switches in a state of plural key switches are operated. CONSTITUTION:If another key is operated when at least one or more keys are operated and a higher-order device 6 displays a character string corresponding to the combination of these keys on a display device 7, the code to invalidate the code transferred to the device 6 just before is transferred to erase the display on the display device 7. Next, the code corresponding to the combination of keys including another key is transferred to display a new character string on the display device 7. If input keys are correct, key input is completed by simultaneously releasing all keys to prevent the character string from being erased by the next key input. Thus, input is momently corrected without inputting a cancel key even if combination of simultaneous input keys is erroneous.
