PURPOSE:To obtain exquisite painting by making a positive printing plate using a screen for characters to be painted, then masking the screen with a masking agent while the screen is fitted to a material to be coated, and washing the masking agent after application and curing of paint. CONSTITUTION:A positive printing plate of characters, figures or photographs to be painted is made on a screen 5a. Next, the screen 5a is fitted to a material to be painted, and an unpainted part 10 other than characters, figures or photographs is masked with a masking agent 11. After this, paint is applied, and after its curing, the masking agent is washed with water. Subsequently, it is possible to not only protect or beautify the surface of an object, but also express even and exquisite design. Further, multi-color painting of fine, complicated characters of figures or full-color painting after color photographs can be easily performed.
