PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material having increased sensitivity in an infrared region of >=700nm, especially >=750nm wavelength of semiconductor laser light by using a silver halide emulsion contg. a specified compd. added at an arbitrary time after the end of physical aging. CONSTITUTION:When a photographic sensitive material having a silver halide emulsion layer chemically sensitized with a sensitizing dye having max. spectral sensitivity at >=700nm is produced, a silver halide emulsion contg. a compd. represented by formula I and added at an arbitrary time after the end of physical aging is used. In formula I, each of R1 and R2 is H, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, alkenyl, amino, acylamido or sulfonamido and the total number of C atoms in R1 and R2 is >=3. Various hydrophilic colloids may be used in the sensitive material and hydrophilic colloid used as a vehicle for the photographic emulsion layer and/or other photographic constituent layer may be gelatin, colloidal albumin, casein or a cellulose deriv. such as CMC or hydroxyethylcellulose. |
