PURPOSE:To reduce S-shaped figure distortion in a BPF type whole electrostatic (SS) image pickup tube by making a zigzag shape of a terminal plane, which is located on a ring-shaped electrode side of a deflection electrode, formed of a non-integer type. CONSTITUTION:A zigzag shape of a terminal plane, which is located on a ring- shaped electrode 212' s side of a deflection electrode 206 formed on an inner wall of a tube, is formed of a non-integer type. S-shaped figure distortion generated by a circumferential electric field in the vicinity of a collimation lens of a BPF type SS image pickup tube can be thus corrected so that it can be reduced to be a value of 0.5% or less causing no practical problems. A non- integer part of a pitch is set to be 0.05 to 0.17, or 0.5 to 0.6.
