METHOD FOR REMOVING NITROGEN OXIDE FROM GAS CONTAINING NITROGEN OXIDE

PURPOSE:To efficiently remove NOx by projecting electron beams to exhaust gas containing NOx and thereafter treating it with an adsorbent. CONSTITUTION:When electron beams are projected to exhaust gas containing NOx, NO is allowed to react with O2 contained in the gas and thereby HNO3 and N2O5 are formed. Thereafter this exhaust gas is passed through an adsorbent such as activated carbon and zeolite and NOx components such as HNO3 and N2O5 are adsorbed and removed. Since HNO3 and N2O5 are more liable to be adsorbed and removed than NO, the removal efficiency of NOx is enhanced.
