PURPOSE:To shorten language processing time and to prevent the generation of misrecognition or no recognition due to a connection dictionary by allowing a vocabulary dictionary to correspond to the connection dictionary one-to-one. CONSTITUTION:Since the connection dictionary 5 is formed by using a 'KANA' (Japanese syllabary)/'KANJI' (Chinese character) conversion dictionary 7 as an information source, both the dictionaries 5, 7 correspond one-to-one. Namely, the dictionary 5 registers only the connection information formed by using all words registered in the dictionary 7. Consequently, the reduction rate of recognition unit string candidates in a connection processing part 4 can be maximized within a range in which candidates to be converted in a 'KANA'/'KANJI' conversion part 6 is not removed.
