PURPOSE:To increase the squareness ratio of a magnetic film and the residual magnetization thereof and to improve the SN of a reproduced signal by subjecting a 1st magnetic film formed on a substrate to inverted magnetization along a specified direction and forming a 2nd magnetic film thereon. CONSTITUTION:After a 1st Co-P film 4A is formed on the substrate, the 1st Co-P film 4A on a disk surface is successively magnetized while the impressed magnetic field is inverted by using a magnetic head in the circumferential direction of a magnetic disk 2. A lead magnetic field 10 is generated on the 1st Co-P film 4A by this inverted magnetization. The axes C of easy magnetization of the Co crystal having crystal magnetic anisotropy align in the direction of the leak magnetic field 10 and the 2nd Co-P film 4B is formed at the time of forming the 2nd Co-P film 4B on the 1st Co-P film 4A subjected to the inverted magnetization. The squareness ratio of the magnetic film is thereby increased and the residual magnetization is increased as well. As a result, the high-density recording with the good SN of the reproduced signal is permitted.
