PURPOSE:To allow efficient dehydration with the help of a centrifugal filtration dehydrating machine by adding byproduct plaster slurry having superior dehydrating property to sludge which is difficult to dehydrate generated by flucculation of smoke desulfurization waste water and supplying sludge mixed with byproduct plaster slurry which has superior dehydrating property sporadically into a rotating busket after such mixing procedure. CONSTITUTION:Smoke desulfurization waste water discharged from a wet smoke desulfurization process containing a process for byproduction of plaster slurry is subjected to flocculation processing. Sludge produced at that time is mixed with plaster slurry byproduced from the desulfurization process, and the mixture is dehydrated batchwise using a dehydrating machine of centrifugal filtration system with a busket 1. In this case, mixed sludge is sporadically supplied into the rotating busket. Consequently, the efficient dehydration by the centrifugal filtration dehydrating machine is possible, and this results in the improved recovery rate of floating material, especially solids with inferior dehydrating property such as hydroxide, compared to a conventional method. Further, the moisture percentage of dehydrated cake obtained can be reduced.
