Device for evening out the winding tension of a fibre band, thread etc., delivered by a driven delivery system to a driven cylindrical winding shaft. The winding shaft is driven by an electrical drive device which has a rotating field magnet which interlocks with the winding shaft and which produces an approximately constant adjustable torque in the range of speeds it provides for the drive of the winding shaft.
