PURPOSE:To decrease the power consumption of a station to be monitored by discontinuing the working of a power supply of a monitor signal transmitter of the station to be monitored in a normal state and then starting the power supply for transmission of a monitor signal when an alarm is produced. CONSTITUTION:A station 20 to be monitored consists of an alarm generation detector 22 and a power supply controller 23 which supplies the power to a monitor signal transmitter 21 based on the detection output of the detector 22. A monitor station 10 contains a timepiece device 13 serving as a check signal transmission means which transmits successively the check signals to the station 20 in a prescribed cycle and a check signal transmitter 14. The station 20 includes a check signal receiving circuit 24 serving as a check signal receiving means which receives each check signal and controls the transmitter 21 for transmission of a response signal to the station 10. While the station 10 includes a check circuit 15 serving as a check means which checks a transmission line based on the outputs of the receiver 21 and the circuit 24. In such constitution, the power consumption of the station 20 is decreased.
