PURPOSE:To efficiently perform an inquiry operation without necessitating a combined arithmetic operation or secondary inquiry at the time of inquiry, by handling a list in an attribute value. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is provided with a data base definition means 11 which defines the attribute and the type of a substance and relationship between the substances, etc., an input device 12 which inputs character/numeric data and a command, etc., a display device 13 which displays a character and a numeral, a storage device 14 which stores the character/numeric data inputted from the input device 12, a data base control means 15 which performs control such as the retrieval/update of the character/numeric data stored in the storage device 14, a list data control means 17 which controls the retrieval/update of list type data, etc., and a CPU16 which controls every means and device. In such a way, it is possible to perform retrieval from plural tables without performing the combined arithmetic operation or the secondary inquiry.
