<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition causing no deterioration or decomposition of the plasticizer therein by e.g. alkali, by incorporating a thermoplastic resin with a specific aromatic tetracarboxydiimide compound as the plasticizer of high heat and chemical resistances with little leachability and volatility. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin (pref., noncrystalline polycarbonate or modified polyphenylene oxide) with (B) 1-100pts.wt. of, as the plasticizer, an aromatic tetracarboxydiimide compound of formula I or II (R is 4-18C aliphatic saturated hydrocarbon group; X is O, CO, CH2, etc.) prepared by reaction (conversion into imide derivative), in a solvent of relatively high boiling point (e.g., phenolic one), between (i) an aromatic tetracarboxylic dianhydride (e.g. pyromellitic dianhydride) and (ii) a primary amine having 4-18C(pref. 8-18C)- aliphatic hydrocarbon group (e.g., n-octylamine) in the molar ratio (i)/(ii)=1/>=2.</p> |
