摘要 PURPOSE:To detect a state that two fixing rollers are pressed against each other or separated from each other, by constituting the titled mechanism so that couplers can be coupled only in a prescribed rotational position, and also, driving to rotate one of the couplers by driving force of a rotation driving force source. CONSTITUTION:In case a trouble has been generated in a part of a fixing device 6, a coupler 62 and 63 are separated in order to release the press-contacting, and subsequently, at the time of returning them to a press-contact state, the coupler 62 is brought to one rotation forcibly by a motor 60. In this case, the coupler 62 and 63 are pressed against each other a little from the right and left directions and coupling is executed in a rotational position where a large diameter projection 62a and a large diameter hole 63a, and a small diameter projection 62b and a small diameter hole 63b are opposed to each other, respectively. Thereafter, a rotational position of the coupler 63 is detected by a rotational position sensor 61. In such a way, an oscillating position of the fixing roller 69, that is, whether the fixing rollers 68 and 69 are pressed against each other or separated from each other can be detected.
