A surface creation method includes steps of defining, on a first section curve or reference curve (21a) of a three dimensional curved body, a point (Pi; i=1,2...) which corresponds to a point (Qi; i=1,2...) on a second section curve of reference curve (22a), and generating an intermediate section curve (13a) in accordance with the established reference. A curved surface is created by collecting intermediate section curves together. This is used for the preparation of an NC tape used in the numerically controlled machining of a three-dimensional body such as a mould.
