PURPOSE:To upgrade sealing effect, and to prevent corrosion and exfoliation of an electric insulation layer caused by permeation of electrolyte by sealing pores with fused coated aluminum; the aluminum is fused during the insulating process and infiltrates into the pores in the insulation coating layer of a fuel cell. CONSTITUTION:A fuel electrode 2 and an oxidant electrode 3 are disposed opposite to each other being interposed by an electrolyte layer 6 between them, and a fuel gas passage is formed vis-a-vis the fuel electrode 2 and an oxidant passage is formed vis-a-vis the oxidant electrode. Gases are prevented from flowing out of a cell through these fuel and oxidant passages by a wet seal part 10. Aluminum is coated over the surface of a ceramic coating layer 10c an insulating coating layer of the wet seal part 10, and after that the aluminum coating is heat-treated at a temperature higher than the melting point of aluminum in a vacuum furnace to form an aluminum coating layer 10d. Thereby the pores on the layer 10c are sealed. |
