PURPOSE:To stabilize formation of a high-quality toner image high in density and free from fog by incorporating a specified compound in the binder resin of the toner. CONSTITUTION:The developer to be used is a one-component type electrostatic image developer composed of a magnetic or nonmagnetic toner containing in the binder resin one of the compounds represented by formula I, II, and III in which each of R<1> and R<2> is H atom or 1-5 C alkyl group, optionally same or different; M is a divalent metal; and X<+> is a cation. This compound has superior negative charge controlling performance, thus permitting the obtained toner to be triboelectrified to a proper polarity in a proper triboelectrification quantity, accordingly, remarkably enhanced in attachability to the image part of the electrostatic image carrier, and to form a toner image high in image density and to prevent fogging. |
