PURPOSE:To attain data transfer with simple protocol and high reliability by sending a data periodically when sending the data from a 1st LAN to a 2nd LAN. CONSTITUTION:A control section 44 at the sender side judges whether or not a data transmission time is reached based on the time count of a timer 43, then judging whether or not a new data to be sent exists in a reception memory 41, generates the new data when the new data exists, it is set in a transmission buffer 46, and a transmitter 48 sends the data. On the other hand, when a new data to be transmitted does not exist in the reception memory 42, the data just before is sent again. Thus, when the reception side does not receive a data even after a prescribed time elapses, it is judged that the gateway at the sender side is faulty.
