PURPOSE:To automatically turn off a power supply, to enable another operator to use a device during the absence of a regular operator and to protect the contents of a document during the absence of the regular operator by detecting operator's absence or its corresponding state on the way of work and automatically storing the document on the way of work in a file or the like. CONSTITUTION:When a pass word is inputted from a key entry part 1, a CPU 3 decides its validity, and when it is valid, the pass word is held and key entry waiting time S and key entry waiting time T (T<S) are set up in a key entry timer 2 to start the work. When the entry is generated within the time S, a CPU 3 clears the timer 2 and sets up the time S and T again. When no key entry is generated within the time S, the CPU 3 stops the reception of work and stores a document of a display memory 5 in a storage part 4. The document is accessed by inputting a keyword by the regular operator and displayed on a display part 6. If no key entry is generated within the time T, a power supply control part 7 turns off the power supply automatically based on an instruction from the CPU 3.
