The invention refers to a reinforcing sheet (10) adaptable to the reinforcement of a panel formed of metal, plastic or sheet molding compound. It contains a perforated honeycomb member (11) with a thermosetting adhesive layer (13, 14) on each side of the honeycomb member (11) and a reinforcement backing (15) adhered to one of the adhesive layers (14). The other adhesive layer (13) is applied to the panel to be reinforced. The reinforcing sheet (10) of the invention provides excellent flexural reinforcement and impact absorbing properties and is advantageously used to reinforce cold rolled steel, such as an automotive panel. |
